Meet our Talented team

Wes Bennett

“My name is Wes, and I have been teaching drums in Georgetown KY for over 10 years now. I have been playing drums and other instruments for over 18 years. I have taught over 500 people how to effectively play drums in a plethora of different genres, styles, and techniques. I mostly enjoy playing drums, but I also play guitar, bass, piano, uke, singing and many more percussion instruments.

After teaching drums for 5 years, I decided to start Georgetown Drum Sessions in January of 2019. Ever since then, I have been completely committed to teaching and helping people develop their skills and self-confidence in music.

Teaching & playing music is my passion, and its impact on me has defined who I am as a person in so many extordinary ways. Teaching others with this same level of passion allows me to teach music in the way it was meant to be heard, shared, and felt. Music is so powerful. It’s the only real magic in this world. It heals people, helps overcome obstacles, makes them stronger, and brings people together regardless of who they are or where they come. This, and many more reasons is exactly why I am dedicated to teaching music to everyone so they can one day have the same life changing experience I’ve had myself.”

DC Davis

“I believe all talent is unique in nature, a blessing to be cultivated.

I help my students find their voice, explore and build their musicality, their confidence, and their joy through singing, playing, songwriting, or all of the above. Music is an expression of the soul developing cognative awareness through creativity, and a sense of self accomplishment. Born to opera singers, I was taught Bel Canto

at an early age and began my professional music career at 13. I have made a living as a touring recording artist, published song-writer, singer, guitarist, and keyboardist in country, pop, musical theater, big band, top 40, heavy metal, and progressive rock genres for over four decades. I have also performed as an actor in film, music videos, and off-off broadway. Since 2012, I have taught voice, piano, guitar, ukulele, songwriting and performance, working with rock schools, middle school choirs, and privately to beginning and professional artists alike.”

Seth Goodrich

“Finding music at an early age established the foundation for the love of creating and learning new things. I consider myself a guitarist at heart, but I am able to play/teach guitar, bass, drums, and music theory. Learning music has provided me the tools to understand and leverage math and science in my professional life; and, is responsible for the majority of my life long friendships.”

Alton Greear

“Hey, my name is Alton and I have played guitar

for 10 years and have taught for 2 years. Music I enjoy playing goes anywhere from Bob Dylan to Mac Demarco. Music is my passion in life, and I love showing others this piece of me.

Teaching truly is the best job in the world. Some of the things I like to emphasize with my students is their ability to express themselves creatively by creating their own music, improvising, and teaching basic music theory understanding.”

Chris Hurst

“My names Chris. I have a B.S. in Arts, Philosophy, and Literature from the United States Military Academy. While there I played guitar in an on-campus band and recorded a solo blues album as my senior capstone project.

I started playing guitar in 1997 and have experience playing and teaching blues and rock music and fingerstyle guitar. I believe in the power of music to change, improve, and sustain life. My passion in life is to pass on the gift of music through teaching, especially to young people.”

Blake Brooks

Hi, my name is Blake Brooks, I’m 26 years old, and I am a multi-instrumentalist.

I’ve been playing music for as long as I can remember, starting piano lessons when I was just 5 years old. Throughout grade school my interest for music grew, and I knew I wanted to pursue music further. I attended Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts just before my senior year at Scott County High School. That year I sang in the KMEA Kentucky Allstate Choir and auditioned for the University of Kentucky School of Music, earning a full scholarship to study Percussion Performance and Education.

During my time in college I got to work with a lot of other really great musicians.

I helped form the band Raptured KYHC in Lexington Kentucky, writing and recording one EP and one Album, as well as playing several shows in and around Kentucky.

After graduating from UK in 2020, I partnered with Berea College’s Asian Studies Program to teach Japanese Taiko Drumming and History to students at Berea until 2023. In April of 2023 I moved to Bristol Tennessee with my fiancé and two other musicians to form the band Eiriel, with whom I wrote and recorded an album as their vocalist and toured for three months on the East Coast.

Mark Spencer

Hi, my name is Mark. I’ve been teaching guitar for over 5 years, and I’ve been playing for over 20. I’ve toured around the region in different bands, playing anything from metal to country, as well as doing solo acoustic singer/songwriter shows around Central and Eastern Ky.

Music to me is more than an art, it’s a creative force that inspires, soothes, and heals. It can bring people together, or it can be the anthem for a revolution. The power of music can truly help shape the world we live in.

I believe personal expression is just as important as great technique, and every musician has something unique to express. Playing guitar is a journey where there’s something new to learn at every turn, and the possibilities are endless. I do my best to give every student I work with a solid foundation in music in which they can build on and enjoy for a lifetime.

I believe the best and quickest way to learn is to have fun along the way, and discover your own style and approach to the instrument.

Julien Galyon

My name is Julien Galyon, and I am a vocalist, instrumentalist, and amateur songwriter from Frankfort, Kentucky. I have been performing vocal music for a little more than twenty years, starting out in my church choir and moving forward to study music through high school and university, where I received a B.A. in Music. I have had the incredible experience of performing in many very different genres - I started in choral music and eventually branched my professional performance experiences out to opera, musical theatre, jazz, folk, country, and bluegrass. Of course, I listen to a wide array of music and sing along offstage. Some of my favorite artists to party with in the car are bbno$, Vulfpeck, System of a Down, and Sabrina Carpenter.

In my pursuit to listen to artists outside of the genres I might be the most comfortable with, I have grown to think every artist can benefit from seeking out new musical experiences. Throughout my musical studies, I have had the amazing opportunity to learn how to play many instruments in many different styles, including mandolin, guitar, ukulele, bass and tenor trombone, bass steel pans, and various auxiliary percussion instruments. Now, I mostly play and sing bluegrass music with my mandolin and guitar at Sig Luscher Brewery and Chinkapin Brewery, but sometimes I take a chance and play some acoustic Alanis. As my student, expect not only to get to enjoy the music and skills you already know, but to also be introduced to interesting music that you may not have heard before - there is a whole world of music out there waiting for you to listen to it, internalize it, and maybe even put your own vocal spin on it. Learning music is a conversation between you and the artist, so get ready to make some very famous friends.

Music, to me, is both formative and transformative. Music can make you who you are and change how you feel about not only other people, but also yourself. Everyone has the ability to find a way to perform that brings them the most joy, and finding your joy in music gives you incredible opportunities to find new ways to experience joy. My joy comes from sharing music with other people, whether it is through my own performances or teaching my students.
